ABOUT US
We are a pool of professionals drawn from diverse academic backgrounds and disciplines. Our staff represents a mosaic of different pillars each supporting and complementing each other. We uphold respect not for age but the ability to deliver.

Management
CBSR- K is a team in the true sense of the word. Each of our employees identifies his or her strengths in regard to our business pursuits and finds a niche in this broad talent base that we retain in our company. We are all team players and for each task, we develop an organization structure putting the best-suited team member to the task at hand at its apex. Job tittles are as fluid and as diverse as our tasks. We however respect proficiency and whilst playing in the same team our staff is divided into Researchers, Assistant Researchers, Research Assistants and Data Clerks. Our office runs like an actual football team on the pitch. The game can be good but at the end of 90 minutes it is the scores that count- that is our philosophy “results count not long hours of effort”

Skills Profile
CBSR –K attracts talent on an on- going basis. Our work exposes and thus exports our staff into many other organizations. We are therefore seeking new talent each day. At the moment the following is our skills set.

Research
We undertake research in all spheres of business and social contexts.

Business research
We have and retain specialists in the following areas:
Strategic planning and management, business plans and forecasting, business process re-engineering, expansion, mergers, acquisitions, and spin offs. We also offer guidance in capital structure, financing, initial public offers and investment advice. Human resource profiling including job analysis, description, compensation, benefits and salary structure reviews and rationalization. Our reservoir of talent has collective years of experience in handling business research both in the private and public contexts.

Social research
Within the context of social research we have capacity to undertake and complete successfully consultancies in the following areas:

Political: including opinion polls, longitudinal and cross sectional surveys, popularity surveys, issue discernment, social mapping, campaign strategy, manifesto compiling, training campaign agents, campaign plans as well as monitoring and evaluation.

Societal: including needs assessment, programme development, proposal development for NGOs, project monitoring, evaluation and Impact assessments.

Policy: we evaluate and recommend revisions to policy statements

Academic consultancies

Projects: We have recently launched a new service targeting mature students who have enrolled for evening courses. We undertake project works in all disciplines of academic pursuits be it at certificate, diploma, degree, masters and PHD. In order to provide value to our clients we do not do the project on your behalf. We provide logistical support from our wide and rich digital library, train you in research methodology and collect for you the required data. We offer support if required during the data analysis and reporting of findings as well as deriving recommendations. In short for a small fee we make your journey through your project, thesis, dissertation much easier but ensuring that we walk with you and not carry you on our shoulders. We fully respect and comply with copyright rules and the right of the institution in question to lay claim on such works.

Tuition: In certain academic fields we provide individual tuition with prior arrangements and acceptance on duration. At the moment we are covering the entire Bcom, MBA programmes in all our major institutions. We hope to expand if demand signals so.

Library: CBSR-K maintains a modern library whose main focus is on accumulating as much information as possible. Our library is open to membership by our clients, other researchers and the general public on subscription. Our digital library is accessible on line upon being issued with a password. Course contents, revision kits, and past paper examinations are available on line or at our offices at low cost. Beyond stocking materials vital to our diverse client portfolio we also stock motivational, fiction and other genres of literature that you will find interesting when you pay us a visit

Our clients: we have a diverse client base some of which we cannot list because they were either academic in nature such as projects or of a political nature such as popularity evaluations and campaign strategy. These are available in hard copy at our offices for perusal. We however develop each project from the scratch. We are willing to discuss your research needs with you and tailor a package suitable to you.

Job opportunities: We accept only electronic applications for various openings in our organization. Please send your CV and cover letter indicating which number you want to play in our team, how you expect us to relate to you, your remuneration expectation, career progression and any unique attributes that sets you apart from others. Donations: We accept donation of not so old books in good condition. We negotiate and pay a modest amount for such books. Donations of e-content are also welcome from copyright holders.

Volunteers: It is our policy to invite volunteers especially for projects such as needs assessment in slums and policy evaluation in marginalized areas. We pay a stipend to such volunteers. If you want to be considered for volunteer positions indicate so in your application.

Social Responsibility: CBSR – Kenya is a responsible corporate citizen. We run motivational seminars at no cost for resource challenged schools. We intervene by providing equipment, computers, books, desks and at times school fees support. We accept and invite your participation in our social responsibility drives. At the moment we have targeted Western Province and we are engaging several schools and students. CBSR –K shall be launching an educational trust some time later in 2008.
